Ross Merrin

Director and engine of Deaf Fret, Ross is dedicated to the promotion, support and development of creative talents. He has been playing and performing on bass, guitar and/or vocals since the early 80s and recording his own songs since 1989 (on 4-Track cassette) to the present day in his digital studio. Despite being a science graduate, he travelled an unlikely career path in a variety of sectors, including nightclubs, charities, movies and corporate development before committing, full-time, to musical teaching and coaching at the turn of the century. His clients have, amongst other things, attained the highest possible grade qualifications, gained entrance to The Royal Academy of Music or developed such skills that they have gone on to have UK Number 1 albums. Ross incorporated Deaf Fret Management Limited in July 2006 to make formal the musical work he had already been doing for several years prior to that with selected acts. He responds to all sincere creative output and the interests of Deaf Fret have naturally evolved into working with filmmakers, poets and dancers. Ross continues to record and release his own songs and has published his debut novel ‘How Beats the Original Heart’, parts of his ‘Moments of Tiny Violence’ trilogy.
